If you are anything like me, I have been increasingly frustrated with my coats in the last few weeks.
The weather has been both spring-like and sunny and, without warning, it will switch to a wicked, filthy wind that chills you down to your bones.
Either I am sweating in my winter coat like I've just run 15 kilometres (ha!) or I'm in my spring jacket feeling like I'm trapped in an Arctic winter and that I'm actually contracting hypothermia.
Is it winter or spring? Please decide.
In the event that winter wants to come rapidly back into the region and smash us all under an additional three feet of snow, I'm fine with that.
I'm not particularly pleased about that, but I can live with it.
At least I know that I would wear my winter coat and boots and not sweat to death before I get into my exceptionally stylish minivan.
In the event that spring wants to come to Prince George, say, tomorrow, I am completely okay with that. In fact, I would welcome the early spring with the rotted-grass smell and the layers of garbage alongside the roads.
Just, for the love of all things holy, why is that wind so cold?
I am starting to believe that spring is starting an elaborate game of hide-and-seek.
Peeking its sunny head around the corner for a half a day before retreating behind a three inches of slushy gross snow. Like playing hide-and-seek with toddlers, I'm getting the sense that spring is hiding behind winter throwing out the occasional giggle before running away.
Winter is not over (although I am happy to be proven wrong) and I am still in my winter clothes and boots.I am still enjoying winter and attempting to become a world-class curler in my spare time.
I have enjoyed the winter this year and I have reveled in a number of delightful winter activities with my family and friends.
Even when the winter is short, it still seems long and I am ready to dig my hands in the dirt and to start gardening.
Ready or not, spring - where are you?
