Think of the youth

It's sad to think that First Nations youth in the Cariboo would have been among the key beneficiaries of the Prosperity Mine if it had proceeded.

It's sad to think that First Nations youth in the Cariboo would have been among the key beneficiaries of the Prosperity Mine if it had proceeded.

Taseko Mines had agreed to donate office space to the Williams Lake chapter of the BC Aboriginal Mine Training Association (BC AMTA) that would have served as an education and training centre for mining related courses. The result of this agreement and the jobs the Prosperity Mine would have provided to aboriginal youth represented a generational change for these young adults.

As a BC AMTA regional manager so aptly stated, the kind of "change that drives optimism and hope." These jobs and training opportunities would have provided these BC youth with long and successful careers; the kind of careers that one can raise a family on and fuel hope for the next generation in BC. What now?
