It's that time of year again, in the month of December on the 25th Day, we lift our glasses in a holy celebration but what do we call it?
Christmas, Happy Holidays. Some people would say, don't call it anything, just get rid of it. Still others would say, call it anything you like, except Christmas.
What the heck, let's take a chance, for the purpose of this letter we'll call it Christmas.
Hold it right there buddy, just one question you mentioned the word 'Holy,' what's this holy stuff anyhow?
Okay lets take the word holy out, it's just a celebration. Better?
At any rate, bells will ring on every street corner, lights will shine a bright red and green, people will make merry even if they are not.
Some will sing or hum along with an old carol even if they can't carry a tune. Thoughts of childhood will come rushing back to a bygone day, when everything seemed better.
Remember mom's cooking and baking was to die for, bless her soul.
Gifts for everyone, even some we might not know too well, such as the paperboy or girl.
Family will travel far and wide to be home for Christmas. Cost won't matter - families are more important than money, right? Well, I guess it depends on who you talk to.
Okay it's time for some truth: if it was not for the birth of Christ we would not have Christmas.
Everyone loves Christmas. Yes, you do. Think about it.
Christmas baking, Christmas trees, Christmas shopping, Christmas cooking, even the liquor stores get in on the spirit of Christmas. Get the idea? Sure you do.
Yes, it's time to lift our glasses in a holy celebration - Christ - the real reason for the season and give thanks for all the blessings.
God bless each one who reads this letter.
