Thank you Mr. Godbout! It is so refreshing to realize that I am not the only one tired of the growth mantra with its promise of Utopia. The mayor of Prince Rupert was recently on radio expressing fears for her unprepared city if it experiences a population explosion. And I don't suppose the folks who can no longer afford decent housing in Kitimat or Terrace are feeling any love either.
Many years ago my husband and I left our home town of Toronto seeking exactly what was offered by living in a small northern city - a quality of life not exemplified by consumerism. Oh yes, problems exists but perfection is so boring!
