The Duchess Park Reunion Organization

I read with interest the Duchess Park school reunion insert in last Saturday's paper, but there is a slight flaw in the history presented in this article.

I believe the committee should have started this article with the original name of the school, which was Prince George senior high school.

We were the first graduating class of Prince George senior high in 1957, which was later

named Duchess Park. The first paragraph of the 1957 school annual says, "Sincerely the

annual dedicates this year's Northern Lights to our new school". The first principal was L.W. Downey. Vice-principal was Mr. Embleton, who attended our 50th school reunion in 2007 along with a number of our other teachers.

Perhaps we are the forgotten class as our graduating photo was never erected on the wall of the senior secondary school.

I'm hoping this will be rectified.
