I am wondering if Prince George realizes how wonderfully fortunate we are to have a place like the Hospice House. Less than a year ago, my husband was diagnosed with terminal cancer and, as it progressed rapidly, we started looking for alternatives to the hospital. Thankfully, we found the Hospice House.
When we booked in there were no tubes, no catheters, no monitors, buzzers or alarms. What we found was a private room where I could stay with him 24/7 and he could have visitors at any time; a place where pets and personal items were encouraged; a place that served home cooked meals that were delicious and we found a quiet, calm atmosphere. We found a nursing staff that was caring and professional and always there if we needed them and a group of care workers that went above and beyond.
My husband died ten days ago and I cannot say how grateful I am that we had such a wonderful place to spend our last days together.
Thank you to everyone there.
