Thanks to anonymous hero

On April 10th at approximately 1p.m., I was with my two young children at Massey McDonald's when my two-year-old daughter, Hannah, had a seizure. As she had never had one before, it was very frightening for me to witness.

On April 10th at approximately 1p.m., I was with my two young children at Massey McDonald's when my two-year-old daughter, Hannah, had a seizure.

As she had never had one before, it was very frightening for me to witness. I frantically called 911 and was able to get help on the way. While I was doing so, a man who was with his son in the Play Place, came to my assistance.

This man held Hannah in recovery position on her side, checked her vitals, and cared for her as I was speaking to the ambulance dispatcher on the phone.

He kept calm and gave instructions as to what I should do. In turn, he helped calm me down from a very panicked state.

When the ambulance arrived, he went outside to meet them.

As they loaded Hannah onto the gurney and took her to the ambulance, this man retrieved my four-year-old son from the Play Place and put his jacket and boots on to get him

ready. In my haste, I didn't get this stranger's name.

I would like to take this opportunity to say thank-you from the bottom of my heart to this kind stranger. I don't know what I would have done without you there. I hope one day to be able to pay it forward.

I would also like to say thank-you to the three ambulance attendants who dealt with us with compassion and professionalism, and got us to the hospital safely and promptly.

Thank-you for the teddy bear you gave Hannah, it was greatly appreciated. You are every day heroes.

Lastly, thank-you to the wonderful staff in emergency at UHNBC, especially Dr. Makadiama and RN Amanda.

Hannah is once again a happy and healthy toddler, due to the help received from everyone mentioned in this letter.

Respectfully,

Katey Patterson
