An open letter to the citizens of Prince George.
We were two of the thousands of evacuees who ended up in Prince George. To the Red Cross and the Emergency Evacuation Centre, your volunteers were so caring and accommodating - huge kudos to you all.
To the people who offered a place to stay, especially Dean at the Canadian Tire parking lot, or offered food, your generosity was truly appreciated.
To the businesses who helped us out, mainly Fraserview RV opening up early and taking our trailer right away who blew out our fridge lines at no charge - thank you.
To a young man, Travis, who we met in Staples and overheard us trying to get a phone charger, a huge thank you for driving home and finding one for us.
The people at Bon Voyage Gas, Laundromat and Restaurant, a pat on the back for all your kind help.
Even though we didn't like being in the situation, the people everywhere were concerned and caring made us feel comfortable.
