Thank you for the support

It has been one year now since my son died as a result of the Lakeland Mill explosion.

It has been one year now since my son died as a result of the Lakeland Mill explosion.

My family and I - in the wake of that horrific event - were in shock and mourning and

perhaps could be accused of being remiss in acknowledging the support of the entire

Prince George community, Alan's and Jo's friends and fellow workers, old family

friends and complete strangers.

Like many others of the Prince George community our shock and grief was overwhelming, and if I may, I would like to publicly state our appreciation of all the support we received and continue to receive.

Like the other families that were devastated a year ago, it has been a struggle, but we look ahead and hope for the sake of others in the future that such an event will never happen again. Men and women should not pack a lunch for work then never return home again because their lives have been snuffed out so far before their time.

I am not surprised by the support that we have all received by the people of Prince

George, that community spirit was there in the '50s, '60s and '70s when my career made my family and I on again, off again citizens.

Our thoughts over the past year have included all those other families and we sincerely

hope and pray for their forward progress.

On behalf of Al's entire family, Thank you Prince George.
