Tell your MLA to deal fairly with teachers

The B.C. Liberal government can put this job action to bed by using some common sense and by being leaders. They have failed the students, the teachers and the public in many ways. The blue collar workers need to send a message to these politicians.

The B.C. Liberal government can put this job action to bed by using some common sense and by being leaders. They have failed the students, the teachers and the public in many ways. The blue collar workers need to send a message to these politicians. We can make a difference but first let's look at what the B.C. Liberals have done to the education system.

In 2002 the B.C. liberals illegally stripped the teachers contract of the language protecting the most vulnerable students, by removing class size and composition language.

The B.C. liberals have cut funding to the education system from over 20 per cent of the provincial budget in 2002 to today's level in 2014 of around 15 per cent .

This shows that B.C. has the second lowest per student funding. B.C. is $1,000 per student lower than the national average.

The teachers took the B.C. Liberals to court twice for illegally removing the class size, composition and specialist teacher ratios language and won twice but the B.C. Liberals are still dragging this out by appealing the courts decision a third time.

So as a blue collar taxpayer this is what you can do to help for school district 57:

Contact your local MLA Shirley Bond (250-612-4181) or Mike Morris (250-612-4194) and ask them to adequately fund the education system and stop wasting money appealing court rulings. Remember these politicians work for the people.

Walk the picket line with the teachers. I wonder what would happen if all the students and parents walked with the teachers for just one day?

Make a difference and stand up for what is right, I know I will and together we can make a difference.
