Taxes, city fees rising, service decreasing

I went to pay my utilities at city hall. I have what is classified as a legal suite and am charged double, although I have no one living there.

I went to pay my utilities at city hall. I have what is classified as a legal suite and am charged double, although I have no one living there. I was told in order to de-classify I would have to remove the appliances and pull all the wiring back to the electrical box. How will that affect the resale value when I am forced to pull all the wires? My utilities have gone up $714 since 2007 and have gone up $209.38 this year. After trying to reason with the lady she very rudely said "Well get used to it as utilities will go up that much every year until 2017." How many know that the utilities will continue to go up by that amount annually?

We live in the reported crime capital of Canada and the city with the worst streets. In summer we get to do the obstacle course around the craters in the and in winter, the vehicle traffic is the snow plow. My street was plowed three times this past winter. I travel Queensway frequently and it was rarely plowed creating a serious hazard. I put up a stake to show I have a retaining wall and planter alongside my drive and twice it has been broken down with the loader. On the last plow the damage to my retaining wall and beautiful rose bush was extensive and although I contacted the city three times, nothing has been done.

We are forced to pay exorbitant taxes and I would like to know where our money goes. I agree with Mr. Skakun that all our taxes should be accounted for publicly. I understand a new staff member was hired for more than $200,000 and there are more than 30 people paid above $100,000.

Seniors on pensions and low-income residents are being taxed and charged out of their

homes. Pensions certainly have not gone up. It appears unless we are rich we are not wanted.

A city ad states, "in order to maintain the beauty of our cemetery, staff is removing faded and weather-worn flowers, and any non-compliant items." In all my travels I never saw a cemetery that showed such lack of respect for the memory of our deceased.

I really am totally disgusted with what is going on in this city, the lack of caring for

anyone but putting money in their pockets.
