Received my tax notice for 2018-2019 and it states a tax increase of 1.87 per cent.
Now for the fine details.
As a senior and after all the grants my previous payment was $280 per month.
My new tax payment is now $309.70 per month.
Not quite sure how the tax increase can be calculated at 1.87 per cent when the tax increase is $29 on a previous value of $280. Maybe the city forgot a digit and the tax increase is really 10.87 per cent.
Nice to see them filling the coffers at the homeowners' expense. A little integrity on what the actual tax increase is would be most appreciated.
