Tax dollars at waste

With regards to the HST referendum: Let's all remember how the current Liberal government lied about not wanting to sell BC Rail and that it would not adopt the HST in their last election platform, and a short time later did both, and did it in such a way with no regard for the hard working taxpayers of this province.

In my opinion this was a tax break for big business.

With a HST referendum, the Liberal government is again lying to us to a degree of fear mongering, first the way the referendum is worded, the Liberal government must think the people of this province are dense and can't read - they couldn't just ask, "Do you want to continue with the HST-yes or no?"

Next the Liberals are telling us through their print, radio and television ads (that are tax dollars are paying for) that the HST will drop to 10 per cent, but they neglect to tell us that we won't reach the 10 per cent mark until 2014, and it will be 18 months before any changes are made to the current tax of 12 per cent.

The Liberals are also telling us that they will have to pay back $1.6 billion that we received from the federal government to implement this tax, and they are going to have to make cuts to services - hurting the the people of B.C. - and these cuts usually land on the most vulnerable people of the province.

In my opinion they are going to punish all the people of the province... regardless, we are already being punished by this tax.

The way I see it, if we vote "yes" to extinguish the HST, we will be punished. And by the the next provincial election, the people of the province will possibly vote the NDP into power and we can maybe, finally get to the bottom of the very costly BC Rail disaster.

Any way you look at it, we will be punished, so what's the difference? Let's use it to our advantage and get some answers about BC Rail.

The government (the Liberals or the NDP) aren't going to help us concerning the HST, and remember these are our tax dollars they are wasting.
