Talking gas and trash

Thanks for the great idea, Brian Skakun. I love the idea of adding a cent or two to the price of gas in order to make our roads better. It is only fair that those of us who drive pay for the roads we drive on.

I love the idea of adding a cent or two to the price of gas in order to make our roads better. It is only fair that those of us who drive pay for the roads we drive on. I don't know why other communities do this already and we - who have the most deplorable roads in the province (maybe in the country) - don't. It is embarassing to live in a city as big as PG and have roads like ours.

On another note... what the heck is going on with our city councillors that they can't see the mess our city is in?

There is garbage everywhere. It is disgusting that people litter like they do, but even more disgusting that it just stays there in the ditches.

One day while you are out, just take notice of the garbage in our city, especially if you are driving from Pine Centre to the intersection of Highway 16 and 97. I could fill a truck with the garbage in one small area. There are even big green bags of it.

I pick up garbage almost every day on my way to work, but the next day there is more - especially around the high school. This is the generation that is supposed to be earth conscious? Right!

Another area that is terrible for not cleaning up their own area/backyard is from Westwood to Opie Crescent on Massey Drive.

I would like to thank those who do take care of their surrounding property.

So thanks to Treasure Cove Casino and Hotel, Roll-A-Dome, Pine Centre, McDonalds on Massey, the fire halls and Windsor Plywood.

I am sure there are others who clean up their property and the surrounding area, so thanks also to you.
