I feel obligated to write about the pig attacked by the two dogs.

I live in the subdivision off Shelley Road. The mindset of people out here is that all animals can run loose. Driving out to my house I see mini pigs, goats, sheep, horses and dogs on the road - it seems that people believe that all animals are allowed to roam free and that if you don't want them on your place, fence them out.

Out here we have all types of wildlife, such as coyotes and mountain lions, never mind the sheer number of large dogs running loose.

Any domestic animal should be fenced in to protect it from vehicles, wildlife and dogs.

Until the mindset of people changes, animals will pay the price of stupidity, from being attacked to being hit by cars or ATV's.

Keep your animals in your yard to make sure they are safe.
