The track and field activities are starting up and the students are choosing their events and practicing during the lunch hour in preparation for the district track meet on June 3.
Drama club III is busy rehearsing for the final production of the year - Mrs. Hill-Tout has captured their interest with a presentation about rock n' roll. Classes have planted the seedlings in the garden and are enjoying watching it grow and tending to it.
On Wednesday, Mrs. Maher's class will attend the Bar-K Ranch in Nukko Lake where they hope to learn about ranch life and participate in some of the activities.
They look forward to seeing some of the young calves. Mrs. Butchart's class will be going on their class trip to Ness Lake Bible camp on Wednesday and staying overnight. The students are looking forward to some of the "team-building" fun!
On Thursday, two students, Alexis and Christopher will be hosting a muffin sale for MS as they are walking in the MS Walk on June 6 for the fourth year in a row.

As the school year nears its end, fun activities wind up. Students at Heather Park middle school are adventuring out to Ness Lake (for a day or an overnighter), Four Seasons Pool, Fort George Park and Exploration Place. Whether the trip is far - 100 Mile House for the outdoor adventure trip (June 24 to 27) or as close as the short walk to KRSS to see the play, "The Beverly Hillbillies" (May 14, 15), student have enjoyed these enriching special events.
On May 19, HPMS had another TAG (Together Achieving Greatness) assembly acknowledging the good efforts and good behaviour of our students. From a very creative student video to a rousing game of musical chairs, students and staff watched as 10 students randomly selected from the draw box completed for prizes via a musical chairs challenge.
Congratulations to all the students who had their names in the draw, the 10 contestants who won Rogers gift cards and the top three finishers: Garth N:I Pod, Kya S:digital camera and Sharayah M: $30 worth of iTunes.
Glenview school held a very busy open house to help welcome all the new students and families from Salmon Valley, Shady Valley and other schools. This was in conjunction with our art show which was organized by kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Burkinshaw. Students' art from all three schools was beautifully arranged in the gym and around the school.
Glenview leadership students were very excited to greet and welcome new students and families and take them on a tour of the school. The principal and teachers from Salmon Valley and Shady Valley attended to provide caring support for their school community.
A huge thank you to the PAC who held a fabulous appreciation luncheon for all the staff. There was delicious food, beautiful decorations and wonderful goodie bags and prizes! The PAC is also generously donating bussing so all the Grade 3 and 4 students can take swimming lessons.
Survivor Grande Finale was held recently. Kaeli Blakely, Taylor Eikum, Kiara Katrinchuk, Hailey Van Koughnett and Jasmin Woolfrey battled it out with the entire student population cheering them on. Congratulations to Kaeli who was the last survivor standing which won her a new bicycle and helmet.
