Homeless in Westgate? First, my brother was houseless and I miss him dearly. They are the most real and down to earth people you'll ever meet. Anyway I just saw three homeless people staggering around at the Home Depot and Canadian Tire area, and two more walking up the hill.
What's the migration about I wondered? The news told me. They've been told "no more hanging on the downtown streets or else!" They're street people, they just moved up the street. "We are not homeless, just houseless, " says Norm, a houseless person, mostly by choice.
Operation Downtown Homeless Clean Up has failed.
Now give them a ride back home, it's a long walk back from Westgate. At least there will be somebody in ghosttown, sorry, I mean downtown.
