Sticking it to seniors

A few years ago when there were parking meters the city offered a car sticker which allowed drivers over 65 to park at meters without feeding them, and use city lots at no cost.

After they did away with the meters they dropped the fee and the sticker was free for a couple of years. The other day I went city hall to renew my sticker and was told there was now a fee of $16.80. The person there explained that as a result of the "Core Review" the free use of city parking lots was cut. OK, now we have a fee for a sticker that gives us nothing, why would anybody in their right mind buy it?

You can park for free for two hours downtown and some of the medical buildings have free parking for seniors. I guess the logic escapes me, not being a politician. I think that "Core Review" means stick it to the people who can least afford it.

Come on, city council.
