I too read the article about the request made to city council from the Blue Cedars RV Park owner and others to have the casino stop allowing travellers from overnight camping on their property.

This week Mr. McFarlin voiced his opinion and I wholeheartedly agree with his comments and I now have a few of my own to add.

The owners that are complaining did choose their location for their businesses and there is no obligation for anyone to endorse their business. In the original article, it was suggested the casino "should provide a shuttle service" but I wonder if they will subsidize the proposed shuttle that she suggests Treasure Cove supply to her customers? Here's an idea. Instead, have the campsites supply a shuttle to the casino, theatres and restaurants if they want to increase their customer base.

"I'm happy, it should mean more business for us and all the campgrounds around Prince George, actually." Well, I guess we'll have to wait and see, considering the remarks that are out there about Prince George camping. Fortunately, there are many other communities along the highway to Alaska that people can choose to stay and spend their money. And it is about choice. Just because you have decided to open a campsite does not mean that I have no choice but to stay at your establishment.

I would suggest that excellence in customer service is what will bring people to any business and keep them coming back. Trying to shut down someone else's business will not change what people have already experienced - customers overwhelmingly show appreciation for great service with their wallets.
