Well Shari, unfortunately you have let myself and likely about 50,000 other taxpayers down. I had cut you some slack, in your handling of many of the last year or so of issues, stating that that was residual issues beyond your control, but can no longer subscribe to that as an excuse.
I thought that you were on the right track, with the statements and promises you had made prior to election, those being in part, the core review to save tax dollars, some minor cutting of city payroll, getting the infrastructure issues under control, etc.
The core review turns out to be a waste, anything suggested was not acted on, except really backward trends to make the taxpayer pay more. The bureaucrats at the city executive levels are increasing, meaning more city decisions made by hired hands rather than the mayor and council.
Unfortunately the city is running as it was with your predecessor, and spiraling downhill at a very rapid pace, I find it hard to believe that you will be happy being only the third one-term mayor. There has to be a time very soon that mayor and council take the bull by the horns, and make decisions that are not going to constantly tax the residents of the city more and more for the pleasure of the few. I must warn you that the taxpayers are getting very tired of the constant barrage of taxation.
I find it interesting that you are making room for another large expense, i.e., communications director, when we already have one, another case of a well paid bureaucrat making a decision, that will not sit well.
Shari, start listening to your constituents, start being a manager, start being somewhat fiscally responsible, stop finding excuses for not believing your own surveys.
Respectfully,
Your one-time supporter.
