Stand up to unaccountable Crown Corporations

Dear readers of this letter: I think it is about time we as the voting public and concerned citizens should get a little up in arms over the miscarriages of justice which is happening in our great province.

Dear readers of this letter: I think it is about time we as the voting public and concerned citizens should get a little up in arms over the miscarriages of justice which is happening in our great province.

I have read with interest over the last weeks people that have been rear-ended by others are facing massive costs as a result of these accidents and are being bullied by your government-run ICBC.

I have always wondered how ICBC can be the only insurer. There is no incentive for them to fight for the innocent, as they dictate the assessments of blame. The only reason that they could find the innocent party responsible in a rear-ender is to get out of the liability issues and lawsuits that might be costly.

I also wonder how the courts can be a party to this blatant miscarriage - does no one else care?

I have thought for the past few years that our Liberal government has made the tough decisions and was at least attempting to look out for the voter, but the silence is deafening coming from our local elected ministers on this and many other injustices.

Unfortunately it seems we as constituents are like sheep, and just blindly think it would, could never happen to us.

What is wrong with us? Does no one care any longer ?

Come on Christie, let's get rid of the past performances and get on with the newer more honest, open and up front government. Don't give us that crap about ICBC being a Crown Corporation, not a ministry.

ICBC influences every matter pertaining to highway, licencing, driving, and how the RCMP conduct investigations pertaining to our roads.

I have been involved with some accident investigations over the past few years as a private investigator and found the RCMP somewhat less than forthcoming, and in one or two cases to be derelict where they lose photographs, fail to take measurements, do not follow up on normal investigative leads etc.

I do not profess to being an expert in these matters, but definitely know when something is done incorrectly.

If we as a society do not wish to involve ourselves, with the old tales of 'Its OK, it won't happen to me,' or 'I don't do anything wrong, not to worry, let them have free rein,' then we are being set up for a very unhappy ending.

The same goes for BC Ferries, BC Hydro, and the list goes on, but that's another rant.

Thanks for listening, and I hope I am not the only one who worries about what is happening.
