Re: Provincial government to spend 16.4 million on BC jobs plan ads prior to May election
The long shuttered B.C. Legislature opened this week for a brief 19-day session and taxpayers learned via a leaked Liberal cabinet document that our government plans to spend 16.4 million dollars of taxpayer funds on further partisan B.C. jobs plan ads leading up to the May election.
Any idea on how many hospital beds could be opened up for a small slice of that cash? How about a real child poverty plan or low income housing or... the list goes on. I can imagine that the percentage of British Columbians who support the spending of those tax dollars in this fashion is even smaller than those who support the B.C. Liberals.
How is the B.C. jobs plan going anyways?
B.C. has lost jobs every month since the Jobs plan ads have hit the air. Last month, B.C. lost more jobs than any province in Canada. Perhaps those millions could even better be spent on the plan rather than on expensive television ads for the plan.
