Sorry for the rude gesture

On Saturday, I was riding my bike along Third Avenue and stopped at Carney to cross at the crosswalk. A motorist stopped and was waiting for me to proceed. A truck was coming from the other direction and the motorist honked. Thinking she was directing the blast at me so that I would hurry across the road (when it wasn't safe), I gave her a look and a rude gesture.

I didn't realize until later that her honk hadn't been for me, but for the truck that hadn't stopped for me. She had been looking out for me. To the motorist: I'm terribly sorry for assuming you were trying to hustle me, and I really appreciate your kindness. You must have been taken aback by my response out there. My experience riding my bike in Prince George has been very positive, and I'm grateful to you for acting on my behalf when you didn't have to.
