I grew up on a little farm in Ontario and the great outdoors was a big part of my life. Our whole family was introduced to cross-country skiing by way of Christmas presents from my father when I was 10. It took me all of five minutes to get hooked and I used those little hickory skis until I moved to B.C. when I was 24. The memories of those great skiing expeditions are always about crisp cold air, brilliant sunshine and the thrill of shushing over hill and dale of gently-sloped Ontario.
