Song of the Day

I've developed the reputation as the office Grinch. It's not my fault. Christmas used to be my favourite holiday. But after working retail for a few years in both clothing and sporting goods stores, my Christmas spirit was pretty sapped for the rest of time.

The most wonderful time of the year? Not when people are screaming in your face because they can't find the perfect t-shirt. And yes, frustrated shopper, having another cashier would be a great idea to help deal with this long line. Unfortunately, you're preaching to the choir and the people behind the till would much rather deal with the said long queue as quickly and efficiently as possible than listen to you complain for an extra five minutes about something they can't change (and believe me, they'd like to change it as much as you would).

Clearly, I'm having flashbacks. Luckily, there is one song that does bring me some modicum of seasonal delight. Say what you will about Celine Dion, but the woman can sing. And when she takes on my favourite Christmas song - O Holy Night - it's an event. So when I need to find my happy place, I turn to Ms. Dion's powerful vocals.

Check it out on YouTube (http://youtu.be/9PmI1yGKvQg) and have a Merry Christmas, if you can.
