When I was a kid there were certain things that just made it Christmas at our house.
We never had much but there was always enough, as the saying goes.
We had a black and white television and two channels were available to us thanks to our trusty rabbit ears - that's what we called the TV antenna back then - what is a TV antenna, you ask?!?! Oh never you mind! Either you're too young to read this or I'm to old to write it! But I will continue. The Little Drummer Boy was a major television treat and I was always enthralled with the stop motion technique that I simply thought were magic puppets that came to life to tell this timeless tale.
For me, the biggest message told in the story of the Little Drummer Boy was love conquers all. It seemed to be a theme in my life and I took that message with me and held it close to my heart all these years and I truly think - and yes, I am naive and proud of it - that when you bring it all back to love, you really can't go wrong.
So here's the song, the Little Drummer Boy, as seen in the last few minutes of the show.
Enjoy and Merry Christmas! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZvjPCcHI4g
