When you get to a certain age, things change: your body, your mind, your heart, your soul, your wants and needs, your priorities, your drive for something better.
It came together in a big rush for me this September when my dear friend and I went on an adventure to explore Paris and a few small villages in Spain.
I wished out loud to have the full Parisienne experience and got it - right down to being pick-pocketed. Luckily the attempt failed and like those defeated little criminals, we moved on - to Spain - for a get-back-to-nature, super-laid back time.
We explored little villages, attended a festival in one town where traditional dance and music were showcased on a blustery night, took a hike along a river filled with waterfalls growing more frequent as we climbed up and up and up.
And it was fantastic. We couldn't have had a more metropolitan/rural juxtaposition if we tried. Having such a diverse experience on foreign soil opened my eyes to the little person I am and the big place the world is and where little ol' me sits on it.
It was a healing, soothing, reconnecting time for me and my lovely friend, Daisy, who I am forever grateful to for showing me that, especially across the world from my home, you can discover there's Something in the Water.
