Norwegian pop duo Nico & Vinz (singer-songwriters Nico Sereba and Vincent Dery) have a summer hit on their hands with their new(ish) single Am I Wrong, from their Black Star Elephant album.
The song was released in Scandinavia in April, 2013 when the band still went by the name Envy.
After the song's beautifully-shot music video began getting serious attention on YouTube, the pair were signed by Warner Bros. Records, renamed Nico & Vinz to avoid confusion with the Japanese punk band Envy, and released Am I Wrong in North America this April.
Both the song and the video draw on the beauty of Africa. Am I Wrong is perfect summer pop: light, smooth, but with enough beat to get people up and dancing under the patio lanterns.
