As some of you may know, local singer Maureen Washington was just named best jazz singer and just received the Black Canadian Award 2014 in that category for her efforts.
This is a online vote based contest and speaking with Maureen she is always overwhelmed with emotion thinking of what it took to get her to the top. It was all due to her beloved fans. The lovely singer, now living in Victoria, took it on and succeeded after being nominated and voted in by some of her fans. The video I chose of Maureen singing is her just being her. She's beautiful, incredibly talented and is the real deal. She's sweet, sincere and just really easy to love. So I thought I would share that love with all of you.
