I am, along with 30 million-plus others, playing Grand Theft Auto 5. I'm primarily playing online where I have set up a crew with my friends. Now playing online with a crew is pretty neat, we can head out on missions to steal tankers full of gas, repo some high-end cars, fight rival crews, or just race across the city in tricked out muscle cars while laying down cash on who we think is going to win.
Online you get to make a unique character and play Barbie dress-up but with tattoos, leather jackets and old-school hockey masks. You can also modify your rides: paint, wheels, rims, spoilers, bumpers and even theft-deterring explosives.
All this stuff is really cool, but one thing that puts a smile on my face every time is riding shotgun when a good song pops up on the radio.
Rockstar, the maker of the GTA games, is famous for their soundtracks and the one they put together for GTA 5 is stellar. One channel I keep going back to is The Lowdown 91.1, a collection of classic soul music from the '60s and '70s.
One song really stuck out to me, Rubber Band by The Trammps, released in '72. The Game's Hate It or Love It ft. 50 Cent was a breakout song in 2005 and it sampled from Rubber Band to great effect (Warning: Hate It or Love It has explicit lyrics).
