Song of the Day

I scored big in the housing department when I first moved to Prince George. My roommate/landlord was an instant friend for me in a city where I had zero connections and gave me firm footing for establishing new relationships.

I scored big in the housing department when I first moved to Prince George. My roommate/landlord was an instant friend for me in a city where I had zero connections and gave me firm footing for establishing new relationships.

After almost two years of living together, she has become my sister from another mister. We are joined at the hip with wordless conversations, teasing jibes, tears (on her part), exasperated sighs (on mine) and gales of laughter.

At the end of this week, our cohabitation - and codependence - comes to an end. She ventures off to take on new opportunities down south and I learn how to navigate Prince George without her.

I dedicate my song for today to her and our ability to live in perfect harmony, much like the symbiosis Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder longed for in their 1982 No. 1 collaboration, Ebony and Ivory. Forget the keys on a piano, we managed to make it work in real life. Relive the cheese factor that made the 80s so special here: http://youtu.be/TZtiJN6yiik
