Song of the Day

I took a few extra days off over the long weekend - usually we head out of town - but this weekend we stayed home. No it wasn't what some clowns like to call a staycation, and can someone please find the git who came up with this term and force him to listen to Psy's awful Gentlemen and Icono Pop's (I Don't Care) I Love It on a continuous loop until his head explodes.

Anyway, each morning me and my wife went for a brisk walk to get some exercise, while listening to our own style of walking music. We dragged our young son along - on his bicycle - even though he didn't want to go, because we figure that if we aren't having any fun watching TV or playing on the computer, then neither should he.

Part way through one walk - while ignoring the child whining in the background that it was taking too long - I figured what tune I would use for my song of the day this week.

About a year ago while listening to a foreign music station I heard a song called Mama Do The Hump by a duo called Rizzle Kicks. I thought the quirky little tune was quite catchy and added it to my playlist, but I didn't figure it was one to use while dragging the kid for some exercise. However, recently I heard another of their songs that I added to my mp3 player for when I am out making sure both my and my son's joints still work.

The song is called Down With The Trumpets and yes it does have some trumpets in it.

At the end of our walk, and my son's bike ride, he pulled up his shirt and said, "How's my belly."

Still not sure if he thought there was a difference, or if he was just being sarcastic.

Anyway, this is a fun little bit of hip hop and may help you to tune out the kids when you are taking them somewhere they don't want to go.
