Song of the Day

Well, it's that time of year again - time for Apple to announce that your current iPhone is an obsolete hunk of circuits and glass.

Well, it's that time of year again - time for Apple to announce that your current iPhone is an obsolete hunk of circuits and glass. They're scheduled to release details on the next version of the iPhone (probably the 5S) and a new line of budget-conscious iPhones that drop all of the fancy (scratchable, crackable, breakable, expensive to repair-able) glass housing and instead have a wide range of cheaper, rough-and-tumbler, colourful plastic backs.

These people are selling crack. Not only do they make the things you have to have, they have also been successful in annualizing their life span while charging a premium for it. Now they bring in a low-cost alternative, so those of you who were put off by the $200 (on contract) to $900 can now get a little bit of that Apple magic for a price point that gets the money out of your pocket and into their Scrooge McDuck money bin.

I bring this all up, one: because it's always big news, but two: because my iPhone's wifi broke recently and using straight cellular data is brutal. Plus, Apple knows just the right ways to pull my "Ohhhh, new, shiny!" strings to get me dancing.

With all that in mind, my song today is I Want A New Drug by Huey Lewis and the News. Take a listen at http://youtu.be/N6uEMOeDZsA.
