I won't attempt to call myself overly (or remotely) knowledgeable when it comes to comic books, but I've always had a soft spot for X-Men.
I was introduced to the series through the animated TV show in the 90s and went on to read a handful of stories. When the series became a movie franchise I was over the moon and have remained a loyal fan with each iteration of the characters on the big screen.
Despite my less-than-enthusiastic reception to Hugh Jackman's last outing in a solo Wolverine movie, I was there on opening day to see the latest movie. And to my delight, I didn't walk out of the theatre disappointed, but already making plans to see the movie a second time.
I'm also super stoked about next year's addition to the movie canon, X-Men: Days of Future Past, which will visit that iconic time-travel storyline I was introduced to when first began watching the cartoon.
So in tribute to the joys that are mutant based, here's the theme song that always got me pumped: http://youtu.be/wZAhqEiq4cA
