Song of the Day

Today's Song of the Day is a three-course meal of hard rock/metal from 1990 to 2000.

This is hard rock we're talking about so for an appetizer there isn't any fiddly little sandwiches held together with toothpicks, instead there is Whiskey in the Jar. Metallica covered the traditional Irish folk song on their 1999 album Garage Inc., but it has been performed - both in the rocked-out and traditional version - by many groups including Thin Lizzy, The Grateful Dead and The Dubliners.

Check out Metallica's version online here: http://youtu.be/boanuwUMNNQ.

For a main course we have Limp Bizkit's Hot Dog. This greasy, mystery-meat song is a guilty pleasure from the band's 2000 album Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water.

Check out Fred Durst and the crew performing the song live here: http://youtu.be/oUre-heUkX0, but be warned this song is not work appropriate -actually, it's just not appropriate anywhere.

For dessert we have to reach to the back of the fridge to find Cherry Pie by Warrant -don't mind the long, stringy blonde hair on it, this is a sweet leftover from the hair metal era.

From the 1990 album also called Cherry Pie, it's a perfect end to a rock 'n roll feast. Check it out here: http://youtu.be/OjyZKfdwlng.
