Anyone who has listened to the songs I regularly feature here will notice that they are normally a little off of the beaten track, and today is no different. I was first turned on to music from a different continent when I started playing soccer with a skinny little Chilean.
House parties at his parents house, and his after he got married often featured music with a Latino beat. The happy beat in this music makes you want to get up and samba, or at e;least try. The same can be said for a lot of bhangra music, and as I got married to someone from the Sikh religion our wedding was full of the drums and beats of bhangra and all the wonderful colours of saris. So this week, although the tune is from an American DJ named Nick Rockwell, the song Hasta la Manana has a definite South American vibe to it and hopefully may make you want to get up an dance, or at least shake your booty while you are in your chair.
