Song of the Day

This past weekend I finally delved into the world of Sherlock, the amazing BBC series that brings Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's hero and long-suffering sidekick Dr. John Watson into the 21st century.

This past weekend I finally delved into the world of Sherlock, the amazing BBC series that brings Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's hero and long-suffering sidekick Dr. John Watson into the 21st century.

Once I picked my jaw up off the floor and stopped kicking myself for not getting into it earlier, I was reminded of another UK product that I took some time to appreciate. Formed in Scotland in 2005, the Fratellis released their full length debut album, Costello Music, a year later. But it was a couple of years from that point before it made its way into my CD collection.

After a hiatus, the band reformed in in 2012 and released their third album last year. I haven't given it a spin yet, so for now I'm going back to the beginning, like I did with Sherlock. Creepin' Up the Backstairs is off the band's 2006 self-titled EP. It's a song loaded with the kind of energy and drive you'd expect from a group of Glaswegian youngsters.
