The summer of 2013 has been a dead zone for good new rock n' roll.
Pop fans have been spoiled with retro-sounding hits by Robin Thicke and Daft Punk, contemporary pop by Lady Gaga and Katy Perry, new hip-hop by Mackelmore and Eminem, and Miley Cyrus' sad attempt to reinvent herself (she was bad when she was a good girl, she's still bad as a bad girl.)
But rock n' roll fans have been neglected. It's gotten so bad that some rock fans are resorting to listening to Imagine Dragons out of desperation.
Fortunately Avril Lavigne has come out with a late summer entry, aptly titled Rock N Roll, to give rock fans some relief. It's not Lavigne's best work, but it is still a heck of a lot better than listening to One Direction.
