Sometimes the best source of new music is not your kids but the friends of your kids.
I haven't seen Hummus in years (that's the nickname my daughter has for a guy she went to elementary school with but he now goes to a different local high school) but he put Claire on to this song and she shared it with me.
When last we heard from Kavinsky, his song Nightcall was the opening credits music in the Miami Vice stylized crime caper flick Drive, with Ryan Gosling. Kavinsky was the right pick because he should have been the music director for Miami Vice but he was born too early.
Anyhow, Hummus put us on to Odd Look, from his 2013 record Outrun. The video matches the 1980s creepy electronic feel of the song, right down to the wardrobe and the cheap special effects.
