The first great new song of the year is out and it comes from an unexpected source.

There was a lot more going on with Foster The People's 2010 debut Torches than the hit Pumped Up Kicks. The album had some great cuts, like Helena Beat, I Would Do Anything For You, Houdini and Broken Jaw.

The band, led by singer Marc Foster, returns this month with a new record, Supermodel.

The new alternative channel on Sirius satellite radio (channel 36) has Pseudologia Fantastica in regular rotation and it's a winner, with the trippy electronics, the distorted electric guitar, the Ringo Starr inspired drumming and Foster's unique vocals, capped off with that smooth transition in and out of falsetto.

In case you're curious, pseudologica fantastica is the psychiatric term for compulsive lying.
