I love bad music. Not legitimately bad music (like prog rock), but music that people made with every intent of it being awesome and yet it fell short.
I rediscovered a playlist on my YouTube account this weekend that I had named "So Bad It's Awesome." The very first video, that spawned the creation of this list so many years ago, was the product of twin brother pop punk band Good Charlotte.
The song is pretty bad - and I say this as someone who actually enjoyed Good Charlotte's music when I was younger. I remember vividly my first listen, mouth gaping open as the lyrics washed over me: "I've got brass knuckles hanging from my neck on my chain." Pure poetry. The album that spawned the single, Good Morning Revival, was put on Entertainment Weekly's list of worst albums of 2007.
And the worst part about this song is that it's ridiculously catchy. So even though it drives me batty, you better believe it's in my head all day now that I've delved back into it. So I'm sharing that good fortune with the rest of you: http://youtu.be/2lP5Og2tyVQ
