I am writing to voice my displeasure at a recent story in the Prince George Citizen about drivers being charged, after motor vehicle accidents involving pedestrians.
To publish their names in the paper before even going to court, in my mind, is insensitive.
I know that their lives have already been turned upside down, and don't need people passing judgment after reading this article, which we all know people do.
Should the pedestrian be charged with jaywalking for crossing the road on a rainy, dark night without looking both ways for traffic?
Based on the Crown's charges, every single driver that strikes a deer, moose, or dog, should be charged with undo care and attention.
This article shows very poor taste from The Citizen for publishing before a conviction in court.
