Just writing to the new mayor and council and wondering if all citizens of Prince George can start hauling their snow and mixed gravel, paper, etc. and dump it in the ditches along the bypass, like I see on my daily travels coming from some of the property owners along this stretch from Fifth Avenue to PGSS.
I know that in residential streets we are not allowed to push snow across the road as it is a bylaw infraction.
Then in the spring, the taxpayers get to pay for the clean up and to get the trees repaired and grass growing again to make it look wonderful.
Maybe it's time to get those that use it to become those that pay for the costs.
As for snow removal, is it necessary to clean the sidewalk along the fence along 15th Avenue by the soccer fields and sand on an almost daily basis when it is seldom used and goes nowhere in the winter, as the same people could use the one on the other side and get to the same destination.
There are many other sidewalks that are on both sides that are necessary, but not that one. There are many more in this same situation and when you get around to doing your core review the snow will be gone and no one will see this waste of money or someone who's authorizing the spending would have already looked at it.
Get out of your chairs and on your ponies and take a look around with your eyes open and you will see what I, and many others, see.
This money could be well spent other places.
