Again Mayor Green shows the citizens of Prince George what she thinks of us. I was reading the article on the snow clearing this year and she had a comment asking Koehler not to make a motion saying she'd rather the initiative came from staff, not a knee jerk reaction to a community outpouring of frustration. My road has been done twice my alley once and the road wasn't cleared after the first snow for more than two weeks and the alley was done first. I work dealing with the public and visitors to Prince George and this is the first year I've had so many cranky customers. I was born in Prince George and make my home here and this is the worst year for snow clearing. I realize we are subject to changes in the weather, but when you have ruts bouncing you from side to side and snow so deep you can't leave your home there is a problem. I had to change my route to work as Johnson St. was horrible to get down and I was concerned for my safety and the possibility of damage to my car.
I don't think concern for my safety when I'm on the roads should be considered a knee jerk reaction. Yes I'm frustrated and so is my family and friends that won't come to visit because they worry about getting stuck or worse on my street.
