I am writing this in response to the letter titled product of her upbringing. Shari Green's father very kindly tried to take the blame for Shari's political choices and opinion, which I find to be very interesting.
I am guessing that her dad ran the letter by her for approval prior to submitting it to make certain this was acceptable in the light of her campaign.
It is my understanding that council members are to approach all council decisions with an open and undecided opinion and they are to form them based on the facts that are presented. Ms. Green assured us that this was the case in her Haldi road vote.
Shari removed herself from fourth vote based on her apparently new relationship with Marshall Smith as a volunteer and advisor to her campaign as of Oct. 5, two days after third reading.
I may be misinformed, but I also was under the impression that councillors are not to have
any contact with involved parties between third and fourth reading as they are not to be influenced by any potential new information.
Interestingly enough, removing herself from fourth reading is not that noble either since she will not have a vote anyway unless she wins the mayor's seat.
Even if she wins, my understanding is the mayor only votes in the case of a tie. This makes me think the chances of her ever needing to vote were slim anyway.
More political maneuvering I think.
