As usual you are to be commended on your research and presentation of the facts and your take on a particular subject.
You were spot on relative to the points you set out to emphasize (editorial, July 11, "Don't let empathy make you a jerk").
However, you neglected to indicate, other than cash, what you would consider appropriate to donate.
Please bear in mind that many people have gone through in the past what people are going through right now on B.C.
For example, the trailer load of essentials that was hauled from Fort Mac to Kamloops was done by folks who were affected last year and are well aware of what is required.
Also please remember that the water, juices, toiletries, baby products , etc. are available and often distributed before funds become available through the Red Cross and other agencies.
Perhaps a follow up "positive" article might stimulate some "fuzzy" response in some who might be somewhat apathetic.
