We live on a very kid orientated street. At most given times there is 10 to 15 kids out playing around. The drivers have complete disregard to the 30 km/hr sign as they do Mach one past all of the neighborhood kids. So we and a few neighbours have placed a "slow down kids playing" sign on our lawns. Recently a city bylaw officer came through the neighborhood telling everyone to remove them. Out of all the retarded things this city does I think this one takes the cake. Why are we allowed to advertise if we are a block watch community, or who we decided we are going to vote for but we are not allowed to remind drivers to slow down because our children are out playing in front of my driveway.
I think the city should quit wasting our taxpayers' money on sending their team out to remove the signs and put a little more effort into improving our city. If my daughter dies from someone racing past our house how am I supposed to bring her back, or explain to her sisters what has happened. When maybe a simple sign could have saved a life. Way to go P.G. Once again your chalked up to the lamest city in Canada. I now have a basket of rocks at the end of my driveway to warn the speeders.
