Skakun deserves apology

Re: July 10th Editorial

I am truly amazed that the P.G. Citizen would publish the link inferred in your editorial. Councillor Skakun has asked many times for more transparent accounting of how our tax dollars are spent .

When we see taxes rising as they have in the last number of years it is time to have a look at how and where we spend our money. In regards to raising of user fees and business licenses a 30 per cent increase is excessive all in one year. The P.G. Citizen and other users may be able to absorb these costs. Others may not.

The real problem here is your inference that Councillor Skakun is only worried about the escort services and body rubs. I am sure that I and many other P.G. residents hope that you will make a full apology to Councillor Skakun.

You may have the right to publish and say what you want as all Canadians do, but that crossed the line. I hope all of our city councillors will take the time and start questioning where and how our tax dollars are being spent.

The editor of the P.G. Citizen should also be asking those same type of questions, not running a person's name through the mud.
