My friends and neighbours, Rene and Erich Franz and I would like to give our sincere thanks to the team of conservation officers for their removal of a persistent and aggressive moose last month from our properties.

On the morning of Feb. 13, the moose had leapt over my backyard fence to charge and attempt to kill my dogs. No, the dogs were not looking to chase the moose. (My elderly dog could not get away, and was kicked and tossed. The veterinarian later found that she had suffered no more than bruises). The following day, the conservation officers were called to my friends' home, where the moose had gone visiting, and tranquilized her. Then they took her a long distance out to be released - far, far away from residential areas.Feb. 25, there was a moose again in my backyard. This time, the dogs stayed in the house. The tags in the moose's ears gave her away as the one that had been relocated eleven days earlier. I was really glad to have the conservation officers come out and remove her from my yard.

Apparently, earlier in the month, this moose had been cruising around our neighbourhood for quite an extended period of time, with visits to the grounds of the local elementary school and possibly interfering with the letter carrier's delivery of the mail.

Gentlemen, thank you very much again.
