I am disgusted by the school districts decision to even think about charging parents of rural children for the bus ride to school just months after closing our school.
If they were so short sighted that they could not figure out that a 1 hour bus ride would not be the same price as a 10 minute bus ride that is not a budget shortfall that is mismanagement of public funds.
We still can't get a decision on our $30,000 playground that we fundraised for (it currently sits buried in snow) how about the school district buys it from the kids that worked for it instead of holding the parents hostage for more money into the black hole that has become SD57?
Please stop making knee jerk reactions to hard times and come up with some actual solutions to the problems we face. This next comment is for all the politicians scrambling for the top job, the $300 million for the proposed art center in Vancouver would solve our problems. My wife & I are concerned working parents, we make do. SD57 should too.
